Cercle de Lecture

The Cercle de Lecture of the Alliance Française has about 35 members who like to read and discuss books by French authors, in French. The only requirement is to be a dues-paying member of the Alliance Française. Members of the Cercle come from many backgrounds and native languages, with the common interest of loving French and French literature. New members are welcome. Cindy Marrs is the moderator of the Cercle.

The group meets to discuss the month’s selection every month except December; there may be from 15 to 20 people present each month. There is no obligation to offer an opinion – you may come and listen if you prefer.

The Cercle usually meets the last Thursday of every month at the Alliance Française at 7:30 p.m. Discussion on the selected book usually lasts for an hour and a half; wine and cheese is then served when members continue the discussion informally.
