Cercle de Lecture
The Cercle de Lecture of the Alliance Française has about 35 members who like to read and discuss books by French authors, in French. You must be a dues-paying member of the AFSTL to participate. Members of the Cercle come from many backgrounds and native languages, with the common interest of loving French and French literature. New members are welcome. Cindy Marrs is the moderator of the Cercle.
The group meets to discuss the month’s book selection and there may be from 15 to 20 members present each month. There is no obligation to offer an opinion – you may come and listen if you prefer. Discussion on the selected book usually lasts for an hour and a half; wine and cheese is then served when members continue the discussion informally.
The Cercle usually meets the last Thursday of every month except December at the Alliance Française de St. Louis and is free to AFSTL members. Contact the AFSTL at 314.432.0734 or consult the website or the Gazette for schedule and more information.
Le Petit Cercle
